Research shows that continuous labor support is associated with improved birth outcomes and higher satisfaction with the birth experience. In particular, hiring a doula when you are planning a hospital birth provides an opportunity for continuity of care - an important piece of maternity care that is often missing in the medical system. For that reason alone, a doula is a wonderful addition to a hospital birth plan!

Doulas offer relationship-based support to mothers and families. I provide a specific skill set for physical, informational, and emotional support in labor and postpartum. I also support breastfeeding as needed after birth, and I offer postpartum overnight shifts separately from birth support.

I am located near Stayton, and will travel to births within a 2-hour radius. I will go as far south as the Springfield area, and as far north as Wilsonville, and the areas surrounding both cities.

I currently am in network with IHN, Pacificsource medicaid, and Open Card plans. 100% of my birth support is covered, as well as 4 additional visits as needed.
For families without OHP, I am happy to work out payment plans that work for you, as long as my fee is paid in full by 36 weeks of pregnancy.

The earlier you hire me, the more time we’ll have to establish a relationship and get to know each other. I like to set up your prenatal appointments for 30+ weeks, but we will spend time connecting before that.

At my core, I believe birth works best most of the time when we allow the baby to arrive on their own terms without meddling in the process, and that our bodies are well designed. I also strongly respect that birth is not one-size-fits-all, and everyone has different needs! No matter the type of birth you are planning, my goal is to support your choices and help you feel informed and respected.

Learning to breastfeed is not always as second nature as we hope it will be, and moms often find themselves navigating some degree of challenge with feeding in the early days and weeks. Right after you have your baby, I will help you latch your them once you’re ready. I also like to teach moms how to express their colostrum by hand before I leave.
During your home visits, I will help resolve the common issues that arise like painful feeding, shallow latch, and difficulty latching/staying on the breast. I can also help assess your baby for tongue tie and direct you to the right professional if you would like to revise it.

Yes! Beginning in August 2026, I am offering placenta encapsulation as a service! I will collect your placenta within 24 hours post-birth and process it into individual caps. Most placentas render 100-200 capsules. Reported benefits of consuming the placenta postpartum include improved mood, reduced baby blues, and improved milk production. I can also make placenta salves for c-section scars, perineal healing, and diaper rashes! Placenta capsules come back to you with a print and optional umbilical cord keepsake.
Services Offered
Begins with two prenatal visits where we get to know each other, discuss your birth and postpartum goals, labor coping skills and tools, and come up with a birth plan. I will be available by phone or text as needed from the time you hire me, until our final postpartum visit. I arrive wherever you are as soon as you request labor support, and I stay for 2 - 3 hours postpartum while you get settled and establish feeding. Birth support includes two postpartum visits scheduled after your birth, where we work on your adjustment to your new normal with baby. This service is covered by OHP, and I am able to accept PacificSource, IHN, and Open Card!
I offer flexible support during the first postpartum year. I am available for full overnight shifts, up to 8 hours at a time for private payers and up to 4 hours at a time for families who have Oregon Health Plan, and variable times during the day. Postpartum support includes light housework (laundry, dishes), infant care, older sibling care, breastfeeding support, and the option to have a meal prepared.
I require that the placenta be picked up (or brought home with me) within 24 hours of the birth. Most placentas will yield between 100-200 capsules, and I include a placenta print and optional cord keepsake.
